This is already over, folks. Harlan's gonna win this in a walk. With 478 of 506 precincts reporting, it's official ... Jim Harlan has received more votes than Steve Scalise did in the May general election:

Candidate Votes % of Vote

Jim Harlan 35,184 72.35%

Vinnie Mendoza 13,444 27.65%

Scalise received 33,867 votes back in the May general election against Democratic candidate Gilda Reed.

Congratulations to Mr. Harlan and his campaign. With a combined total of 52,130 DEMOCRATIC VOTES, we now all know District One is truly in play.

But now is not the time to rest on our laurels.

The Republicans are going to fight back, and they're going to fight hard.

Let's prepare for battle.

What a great turn-out and what a great show of support for Jim Harlan. If everyone who voted yesterday returns in November - and brings a friend along - we'll finally have a Congressman we can be proud of in LA01.
